West Ham transfer round-up: Xhaka deal readied as fresh approach lined up
West Ham’s transfer window is beginning to gather pace following a slow start.
The East Londoners spent a lengthy period of the summer as one of the only Premier League clubs that hadn’t made a signing, but they have quickly put paid to that of late.
Kyle Walker-Peters recently became West Ham’s second new addition of the summer, as the Hammers swooped in to conclude a swift deal after the full-back’s move to Besiktas broke down.
Graham Potter will still be keen to add plenty more fresh faces, and with that in mind, West Ham Zone provides a round-up of all the latest transfer news coming out of E20.

West Ham weighing up potential move for Mehdi Taremi
West Ham are understood to be considering an approach for Inter Milan striker Mehdi Taremi, according to Gianluigi Longari via X (20 July).
The Iranian appears to be on his way out of the Italian giants, with his agent believed to have recently met with representatives from Besiktas.
Fulham and the Hammers have both also been offered the chance to sign the 33-year-old, and it is believed that the London Stadium outfit are currently evaluating that possibility.
Taremi could be sold by Inter for a fee in the region of £8.6million, and they are willing to listen to offers for the out-of-favour star.
West Ham prepare approach for Leicester’s Mads Hermansen
Potter’s side are also thought to be preparing an approach to sign Mads Hermansen from Leicester City, according to Alex Crook via X (21 July).
The goalkeeping department is certainly an area of concern for the Hammers this summer, and they could be about to address that with the signing of the Danish gloveman.
Leicester are said to be bracing themselves for an approach from West Ham for Hermansen, who has been one of their standout performers over the last couple of seasons.
The Foxes have acknowledged that the 25-year-old is one of their few saleable assets, which has seemingly presented the possibility of a move to East London.

West Ham eye move for Granit Xhaka
David Sullivan and Co. have now got their eyes fixed on securing a sensational return to the Premier League for Granit Xhaka.
West Ham have joined Sunderland in the race to sign the former Arsenal midfielder, according to the print edition of the Rheinische Post (21 July, pg. C4).
The Swiss international still has three years left on his contract at Bayer Leverkusen, who are viewing the interest in their star as a win-win situation.
The East Londoners appear to be looking at a fee in the region of £17million if they are ultimately serious about bringing the 32-year-old back to England.
