West Ham United are set for a busy summer transfer window, and the wheels are in motion as they edge closer to their first signings.

Graham Potter has a huge task on his hands as he aims to rebuild this West Ham squad after a disastrous season, and there is plenty of work to be done.

West Ham need a goalkeeper as a priority following the departure of Lukasz Fabianski, while a midfielder and a striker are also on the agenda.

West Ham Zone has rounded up all the latest transfer news as the early moves in the window are being made.

West Ham could do a lot of shopping within London this summer, and are eyeing up Chelsea pair Robert Sanchez and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Sanchez is one of several goalkeepers being admired, and it has been reported that verbal bids have been made for the pair in what could be a mega double deal.

Dewsbury-Hall has hardly featured since moving to Chelsea from Leicester, but Sanchez has been their main goalkeeper, although he has attracted criticism for his performances under Enzo Maresca.

West Ham are eager to reduce the average age within their squad, and are now keen on Stade De Reims sensation Valentin Atangana.

The 19-year-old has had a productive season in Ligue 1, making 41 appearances, and he could now move to the London Stadium for a fee of around £8.4 million.

Atangana could slot straight into Potter's midfield and would add both depth and long-term quality for a relatively low fee, and this is the type of young signing West Ham should be looking to make this summer.

While West Ham are eyeing up Sanchez from Chelsea, one of their loanees could be of appeal, with Djordje Petrovic admired in East London.

Petrovic saved a penalty for Serbia in their heated World Cup qualifying draw with Albania, and this followed a fine season on loan at Strasbourg in France.

West Ham will now have to decide which of Sanchez or Petrovic to pursue, and the younger goalkeeper could prove to be the better signing to overtake Alphonse Areola as the number one option.

Reports suggest that the Hammers will have to sell some of their stars to make signings.

This has now been reiterated by journalist James Sharpe via the Daily Mail (6 June).

While he has reported that Potter has returned from his holiday, signings are not thought to be close.

Sources within the club told Sharpe that nothing “major” was in the offing. However, there are positive discussions ongoing that are in the early stages.
