Tim Steidten to jet into London with Mohammed Kudus for West Ham United medical – Dharmesh Sheth

West Ham technical director Tim Steidten is planning to jet into London with Mohammed Kudus ahead of the Ajax midfielder undergoing a medical with the Premier League side, according to Dharmesh Sheth.

Kudus hinted after scoring a hat-trick in Thursday’s [24 August] Europa League play-off qualifying first leg against Ludogorets that he had played his final game for Ajax.

The Hammers are reported to have already agreed personal terms with the Ghana international on a five-year contract, while a £38million deal is in place with Ajax [Sky Sports], meaning a medical is the final step.

ExWHUemployee previously revealed that Steidten is in Bulgaria – where Ajax played Ludogorets – to meet with Kudus.

Sky Sports reporter Sheth added on his personal Twitter account on Friday [25 August]: “If [a] deal can be done, [the] pair will fly to London so Kudus can do medical and formally sign [the] contract.”

Almost there

West Ham have already signed Edson Alvarez, James Ward-Prowse and Konstantinos Mavropanos this summer, but Kudus is the player who will add some serious stardust to the squad.

The 23-year-old scored 11 goals and assisted three more in Eredivisie last season, while also netting four times in six Champions League group games – form he has continued this campaign with four direct goal involvements in three appearances.

Kudus described West Ham as a “great club” when asked about the speculation following his treble against Ludogorets, with the smile on his face saying it all.

West Ham

This is a deal that the player wants, West Ham definitely want and Ajax also – reluctantly – want given the large sum of money being offered.

The biggest hurdles now appear to have been cleared, meaning it is just down to the player completing his medical in London.

Assuming that goes through without any problems, Kudus could be a West Ham player as soon as this weekend.

In other West Ham news, Southampton are reportedly interested in signing one of the Hammers’ defenders.
