Everton make last-gasp summer approach for Danny Ings at West Ham United
Everton have asked about the availability of West Ham striker Danny Ings ahead of the transfer window closing, according to The Mirror.
David Maddock reported on the British publication’s online transfer blog on Monday [28 August, 22:05] that the Toffees are eager to add to the signing of Beto, with that deal on the verge of going through.
Ings is struggling for starts at West Ham and is said to have been targeted as an experienced forward that Sean Dyche can turn to.

Keep hold
West Ham could do with signing another centre-forward this summer following the departure of Gianluca Scamacca, so it makes no real sense to offload Ings at this point.
The Hammers paid £15million for the three-cap England international in February, which they would no doubt look to recoup if Everton’s interest is indeed concrete.
Ings is effectively playing back-up to Michail Antonio, and while he has only scored a couple of Premier League goals to date, it must be remembered that he has started just seven games.

West Ham will no doubt feel they can land an upgrade on Ings, with any moves subsidised by the Englishman’s sale, but they have only a few more days left to do so.
Only if another striker is brought in should David Moyes’ men sanction the sale, or else they risk being left even lighter than they currently are in that department until the January window.
In other West Ham news, journalist Oliver Holt took aim at a Hammers player for his conduct in the win against Brighton & Hove Albion.
