West Ham transfer news as Armando Broja ‘wants out’ of Chelsea with move on cards

West Ham are targeting Chelsea’s Albanian striker Armando Broja as the player is exploring an exit from the Blues following the club’s acquisition of Nicolas Jackson, according to TeamTalk.

Chelsea striker Broja has been left unhappy at the club’s purchase of Jackson, and has been exploring an exit with his agent as he want’s out of the club this summer. West Ham are one of a number of clubs who have been linked to Broja, alongside Crystal Palace, Brentford and Burnley.

Another loan spell is not out of the question after he impressed with Southampton in 2022/23, but a permanent move is preferred by the club and player. Broja spent the second half of last season on the treatment table after suffering a serious knee injury during the World Cup break.

Broja is the perfect forward for West Ham

Broja has an excellent mixture of technical ability and physicality, and stands at almost 6ft 3, making him the perfect striker for David Moyes, who is known to prefer a physical presence up front rather than someone purely technical, as was rumoured to be the issue with Gianluca Scamacca.

If Scamacca is to leave the club this summer as has been reported, Broja should be the number one target for the East Londoners, with a deal for him suiting all parties. Broja wants to leave Chelsea but could remain in London so he wouldn’t have to completely up sticks, while West Ham would gain a fantastic player.

Another promising aspect of any deal for Broja is his age. At only 21, the striker still has plenty of room to develop and hone his skills, while also having plenty of football experience for his age after two successful loan spells with Vitesse in the Eredivisie, and Southampton in the Premier League.
