West Ham told to sign Wolves star Mario Lemina despite Jarrod Bowen bust-up

Martin Allen says he would have Wolves star Mario Lemina at West Ham United “all day long”.

Lemina was involved in a bust-up with Jarrod Bowen at full-time of West Ham’s highly contentious 2-1 win between the sides on Monday (9 December).

Despite the midfielder’s strop – which he has since broken his silence on via social media – Allen would like to see him at the London Stadium permanently.

Writing on his personal X account [10 December], Allen said: “Lemina? Yes, I’d sign him all day long. He’s a good player. Feisty, passer, mobile, spunky, competes…”

The falling out, shall we say, that occurred shortly after the final whistle was down to Lemina snubbing Bowen’s offer of a handshake.

As Bowen pointed out after the match, the two captains should always shake hands regardless of the result or what has happened over the previous couple of hours.

Lemina was frustrated but he should not have confronted Bowen. In his defence, he apologised for his actions via social media on Tuesday (10 December).

Away from that, the Gabon international is tenacious and you can see that he would be a good fit in West Ham’s engine room.

Tim Steidten has already recruited in that position and it has been a case of trial and error so far for Julen Lopetegui.

If Wolves drop out of the Premier League, though, which is a realistic possibility, then this is maybe an option the Irons should explore come next summer.
