West Ham told how much to pay for Santiago Gimenez who is ‘destined for the Premier League’

Santiago Gimenez has long been linked to West Ham, with an offer of £26.2million thought to be enough to acquire the striker.

Nuno Espirito Santo is desperate to solve his attacking issues, especially with Niclas Fullkrug expected to leave the London Stadium in January.

As a result, many forwards have been linked to West Ham, including Gimenez.

The Gimenez had been previously linked to the London Stadium before his move to AC Milan when he was firing in the goals at Feyenoord.

However, he may now be available for the January transfer window.

AC Milan want £26.2m for Santiago Gimenez

According to a report from Il Messaggero on 5 December, AC Milan are set to demand £26.2m for Gimenez.

The striker has not settled at the Serie A club and is yet to score a goal this season.

This is despite Gimenez netting 22 goals last campaign for both Feyenoord and AC Milan in all competitions.

As a result, AC Milan are ready to cut their losses nearly 12 months after signing the Mexican international for £27.9m.

Both Sunderland and West Ham are reportedly keen, with the article stating that Gimenez is “destined for the Premier League”.

Can Gimenez fix West Ham’s attacking issues?

While Gimenez has failed for score this season in the Serie A, according to Fotmob on 5 December, he is doing plenty of things right.

The striker has a high xG, averaging 0.41 per game, as well as taking 3.01 shots a match.

Gimenez has plenty of solid stats despite his goal drought

Therefore, it seems a matter of time before he breaks this duck and finally gets among the goals again.

However, the issue for West Ham is if he is able to replicate these stats in the Premier League.

For many years, the Hammers signed strikers from abroad, only for them to be flops.

Therefore, it remains to be seen if Gimenez follows this route if he is brought into the London Stadium.
