West Ham to sign new centre-forward amid Fullkrug bombshell
West Ham are set to sign a new centre-forward after the latest injury news concerning Niclas Fullkrug, according to Sam Whetstone.

Hammers insider Whetstone claimed (12 January) that the club will now prioritise a new number nine in the January transfer market.
Fullkrug just cannot catch a break in East London, he scored his second Premier League goal of the season in the 4-1 loss to Manchester City (4 January) but now faces another spell on the sidelines.
West Ham desperately need a striker
The update from Whetstone will be a relief to Irons supporters as the squad desperately needs another striker.
The injured Jarrod Bowen is the Hammers’ top goalscorer this season with five in the league, while Fullkrug and Danny Ings have a combined three between them.
Under Julen Lopetegui, only six teams scored fewer goals in the league this season but Graham Potter is expected to play a more expansive style of football after he replaced the Spaniard.

For that to be fully effective, he needs a number nine that can score a lot of goals, the new system may have been better for the German attacker but he is now out for a significant spell.
The former Borussia Dortmund man has endured a torrid time at the London Stadium since his move last summer, making just nine league appearances, and may now find himself down the pecking order when he returns.
The Hammers have been linked with moves for Nice forward Gaetan Laborde and Marseille’s Elye Wahi in the last few days and may now be forced to accelerate their interest.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers have responded to a bid for Edson Alvarez after the latest Fabrizio Romano update.
