West Ham to ‘sign Arthur Cabral in next few hours’ as shock £15m news emerges
West Ham could sign Arthur Cabral from Benfica after a move to Atlanta United failed, according to Record.
The Portuguese outlet reported on 31 January that the Brazilian could join the Hammers “in the next few hours” in a deal worth £15million.
This comes just days after the 26-year-old had the chance to join the MLS side for £13.3m but that deal eventually fell through, handing the Irons the chance to complete a winter signing.
West Ham could sign Arthur Cabral from Benfica
There is no secret that Graham Potter wants to bring a new forward option to the London Stadium before the 3 February deadline.
This comes after damming injuries to Niclas Fullkrug and Michail Antonio left the new head coach with Danny Ings as his only recognised senior striker.
As a result it can’t come as a surprise that the Hammers have been linked to various strikers this winter with Cabral being the latest.
The Brazilian has made just two starts this season for Benfica in Liga Portugal but has managed to net twice which is a positive return considering his lack of minutes.

Last campaign, the ex-Fiorentina man scored 11 at the Stadium of Light, adding to the 17 he had scored for the Serie A side the year before.
This shows that Cabral has the goalscoring pedigree that could make him a useful addition in East London, especially for a fee as low as £15m.
