West Ham to make proposal for Evan Ferguson transfer
West Ham are ready to make a proposal to Brighton to sign striker Evan Ferguson, according to Dharmesh Sheth.
The Sky Sports journalist reported via the Sky Sports transfer blog (31 January, 10:28) that the Hammers are now “in contact” with Brighton regarding a potential move for the Irishman.
Both a permanent deal and a loan deal are being weighed up with West Ham now having “growing optimism” that the 20-year-old would like to reunite with Graham Potter.
West Ham United would be making a statement with Evan Ferguson transfer
Since the start of the season, one of the Hammers’ main teething problems has been the lack of goals that their strikers have scored.
Niclas Fullkrug was the man brought in to try and solve West Ham’s number nine problem but since his arrival at the London Stadium, he’s spent most of his time on the sidelines which is far from ideal.

Of course, the Hammers have the likes of Danny Ings and Jarrod Bowen who could also do a job as Potter’s focal point but much like Fullkrug, the latter has been injured for an extended period of time whereas Ings has just been in poor form for the last couple of seasons.
There are still three days left until the winter transfer deadline strikes and even though it feels like Potter’s men have been through almost every available striker so far, it feels like they could end up with the best one out of the lot.
