West Ham to hang Nuno Espirito Santo out to dry after double transfer update
Nuno Espirito Santo will have been hoping that things were on the up at West Ham after a stunning win against Tottenham.
Callum Wilson’s late strike secured West Ham a vital three points on 17 January and brought optimism about the survival fight.
The London Stadium outfit are still five points off safety, and they are active in the transfer market to try and improve their outcome.
However, the latest transfer updates from East London may leave Nuno baffled.

West Ham target two attackers in double update
West Ham are close to signing Keiber Lamadrid, with a medical on the cards after a loan-to-buy deal was agreed with Deportivo La Guaira, according to Florian Plettenberg.
Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra has named the Irons as contenders for Yaser Asprilla‘s signature, stating on 20 January that his exit from Girona is “imminent.”
The fact that the club is moving for two attackers may leave their manager furious, as they need to be focusing on other positions, after already signing Pablo and Taty Castellanos.
Why West Ham moving for multiple attackers is an issue for Nuno
Nuno’s side are on of the worst defensive sides in the Premier League.
They have conceded 44 goals in 22 league matches, the worst tally in the division, which is a huge reason why they are in danger of going down to the Champions League.
Surely, they should be targeting defenders to try and fix that issue, rather than signing two more forward players.
They have been linked with several centre-backs, the likes of Bobby Thomas, Leo Pereira and Charlie Cresswell, but it seems like nothing is anywhere near completion on that front.
Meanwhile, midfield is another area that needs reinforcements, as James Ward-Prowse has been bombed out of the squad by the manager, and Guido Rodriguez is clearly not good enough.
There are also question marks over Lucas Paqueta’s future, with the influential maestro wanting to return to his homeland with Flamengo.
The board will be hanging Nuno out to dry if they neglect important areas of the squad and just load it with fresh impetus in the final third.
