West Ham to formally sign off on Evan Ferguson deal within hours

West Ham United have exchanged all formal documents with Brighton for the transfer of Evan Ferguson, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist revealed on his personal X account (3 February) that the Hammers will formally approve a loan deal for the Irish striker within hours.

After already completing his medical, the 20-year-old will become a new Irons player on deadline day.

The East London club look poised to announce the arrival of Ferguson in the final hours before the 3 February deadline.

Graham Potter will arguably be delighted to finally have a new number nine come through the door at the London Stadium after injuries to Niclas Fullkrug and Michail Antonio.

Danny Ings is an option at the English manager’s disposal, but he seems to prefer Lucas Paqueta as a striker over the former Southampton star.

Mohammed Kudus has also played up front but is evidently more comfortable playing on the right wing.

Jarrod Bowen is also expected to return soon from his injury for West Ham, which will boost Potter’s options in the final third.

The Hammers will face Chelsea on Monday (3 February), and it will be interesting to see whether Ferguson will be in the stands to watch his new teammates play.

If the potential deal is announced, it seems likely that the 20-year-old will be available Potter will be able to call upon him for the Brentford game on 15 February.

The London Stadium faithful will hope the Ireland international can have an impact for them in the second half of the season.
