West Ham target Mavropanos replacement as £17m transfer update emerges
West Ham could be in the market for a Konstantinos Mavropanos alternative as the summer transfer window nears.
The Greece international has been a regular under Graham Potter but has failed to truly impress in the Englishman’s back-five approach.
This could see the former Chelsea boss delve into the market to assess defensive options to improve his squad ahead of the new campaign.
With that being said, Mavropanos could be someone who becomes a makeweight if a centre-back signing is made in the upcoming window.

Kevin Lomonaco could replace Mavropanos at West Ham
The 27-year-old has been solid at times since making a switch to the London Stadium from Stuttgart back in the summer of 2023.
With that being said, there is always a feeling surrounding the former Arsenal man that there is a mistake in him which could cost his side.
This could be part of the reason why Potter is assessing new potential deals with one target being named as Red Bull Bragantino loanee Lomanco.
GiveMeSport reported on 1 April that the Irons are tracking the centre back who has a £17million release clause in his contract in Austria.
Crystal Palace, Sevilla and Wolfsburg are also interested in the 23-year-old, who could prove to be a replacement for Mavropanos in East London.
The E20 outfit are “likely to be in the market for a centre-back”, and an alternative for the Greek could be sought out.

Mavropanos could leave West Ham
Lomonaco could prove to be a useful signing under Potter, especially if he continues to utilise a back five formation in East London.
The Argentine has performed at a top level on loan at Independiente and could be preparing for a move to Europe ahead of the new campaign.
That could be a bad sign for Mavropanos, who may see his minutes dwindel if the 23-year-old is to come in before the end of the summer to line up with Max Kilman and Jean-Clair Todibo.

It would be interesting to know if the Hammers defender would want to leave off the back of this just two years after signing in E20.
If the Greek wants to depart, his sale could help fund multiple incoming deals in the market, which may prove to be a positive.
