West Ham United table offer to sign Adnan Januzaj as he’s released by Real Sociedad
West Ham have submitted an offer to sign Belgian forward Adnan Januzaj, who’s set to leave Real Sociedad when his contract expires this month, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Spanish newspaper reported via their print edition on Thursday (16 June, page four) that Sociedad have informed the 27-year-old that he won’t be offered a new deal, leading to interest from West Ham and Real Betis.
It is understood that due to Januzaj wanting a high signing-on fee, a move to Betis has been ruled out and the Hammers have now tabled an offer to the former Manchester United attacker.

Good signing?
We’re not sure on this one.
Januzaj was a bright young talent at Manchester United with David Moyes handing him his debut at the age of 16 before signing him again on loan at Sunderland later on in his career.
At Sociedad, Januzaj hadn’t done badly until the 2021/22 season, in which he still managed to score five goals and supply three assists in 44 appearances across all competitions.
The Belgian forward, who can play on either wing or as a striker, scored one of those goals against PSV in the Europa League while another came against Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey. Clearly, he can score against decent teams while he also assisted goals in two games against Monaco.
Januzaj has plenty of Premier League experience too having played 75 times in England’s top-flight and he’s been at Borussia Dortmund.

Not many players can boast playing in the Premier League, La Liga and the Bundesliga while also earning 15 caps for a major nation like Belgium.
Januzaj was in the most-recent Belgian squad too.
He didn’t play in any of Belgium’s Nations League games this June but he was on the bench against Wales and Poland, which surely counts for something.
For a free transfer, we wouldn’t mind signing Januzaj too much but is he better than what we already have?
No, he isn’t. But he wouldn’t be a bad replacement for Andriy Yarmolenko.
In other West Ham news, the Irons have been offered the chance to sign this £12.8million goal machine after his club was relegated.
