West Ham are expected to sign a new centre-forward in the summer transfer window after selling Sebastien Haller to Ajax in January and failing to replace him.
Michail Antonio is the only striker in the senior squad and, as predicted, he’s suffered a recent injury setback leaving David Moyes with a difficult issue to deal with up front.
Several strikers have been linked with a move to the London Stadium since the summer and one of the more promising ones is Stuttgart’s Sasa Kalajdzic.
In March, the Daily Mail reported West Ham had entered the race to sign the 23-year-old Austria international, who has scored 15 goals in 30 appearances across all competitions for Stuttgart this season, including one which came against Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
However, the hopes of signing Kalajdzic may have started to fade in recent weeks. Firstly, the Independent reported that Dortmund could turn their attention to Kalajdzic if Erling Haaland is sold in the summer with the Irons eyeing a potential loan-to-buy deal.
This week, the Daily Mail has dealt another possible blow by reporting Tottenham are eyeing Kalajdzic to be someone to play a backup role behind Harry Kane instead of Carlos Vinicius.
We asked our panel of West Ham Super Fans to say what they think about Kalajdzic and whether he’d be a good option for the summer transfer window.
However, it appears that fragments of Haller’s nightmare spell in East London remain embedded in some of their thoughts.

Haller had a torrid time at West Ham despite being the most expensive player the club has ever bought.
He’s since rediscovered his form in Holland with Ajax but there’s no denying that he wasn’t good enough for the Premier League with him not really suiting our style of play or system.
It’s unfortunate that Haller’s rotten spell at the London Stadium has now tarnished the reputation of Bundesliga strikers for West Ham fans.
Yes, Haller was a failure. But we’ve seen some wonderful imports from Germany over the years like Heung-min Son, Roberto Firmino and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
However, there have been other flops like Haller such as Joelinton, Oliver Burke and, so far, Timo Werner.
It’s always hard to tell how a player can perform when switching leagues but Moyes hasn’t steered us wrong yet in the transfer market and we’ll trust his judgement.
In other West Ham news, Frank McAvennie is delighted to see Angelo Ogbonna back in training after his recent spell out injured.
