West Ham submit offer to sign Douglas Luiz, Juventus ready to do £34m deal
West Ham are looking to further add to their squad after completing the signing of El Hadji Malick Diouf.
The Hammers have been able to make some progress this summer following the sale of Mohammad Kudus to Tottenham for £55million.
The London Stadium faithful wouldn’t have been blamed for thinking that the transfer window hadn’t begun a few weeks ago, but they now look set to be repaid for their patience.
West Ham have been looking for a midfielder to replace Carlos Soler after he returned to Paris Saint-Germain following his loan, and they now seem to have stepped up their efforts to sign Douglas Luiz.

West Ham submit offer for Douglas Luiz amid Pep Guardiola claim
David Sullivan has ramped up his efforts to add to the Hammers’ squad after a disastrous 2024/25 season.
The West Ham owner is looking at bringing in Juventus’ Luiz as Potter looks to sign a ball-playing midfielder to help him implement his style of play.
Gazzetta Dello Sport (page 16, 20 July) has reported that West Ham and Everton have both made offers for the Brazilian and are the most interested.
Luiz is currently valued at £34million by the Italian giants, but with them having to sell combined with the midfielder’s dip in form, Juventus may have to sell for less.
The 29-year-old has previously been credited by Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola as having the quality to play for the Citizens.
Luiz was on the books at City from 2017 to 2019 but was forced to go out on loan to Girona after they had issues securing a work permit for the midfielder.
In the end, he signed for Aston Villa before signing for Juventus last season for £43.2million, but the Brazilian has yet to show the form that he displayed in England.

Luiz to make all the difference at West Ham
Luiz played a key role in transitioning the Villans from a relegation-threatened side to a team competing for European football.
