West Ham sources share update on Charles De Ketelaere after new Paqueta twist

West Ham are already planning for the summer transfer window with a move for Charles De Ketelaere in the pipeline, as sources speak out.

The Hammers did plenty of business before the season which saw plenty of optimism surround the London Stadium.

This hasn’t necessarily paid off with key additions like Niclas Fullkrug unable to make a positive impact since moving to East London.

With that being said, Graham Potter will be keen to make his stamp on his side and could do so with De Ketelaere in the summer.

West Ham consider Charles De Ketelaere transfer now

The Irons could be in line to add to their squad ahead of the new campaign and could be forced to do so if any key players depart.

If any forward options like Lucas Paqueta were to make a move away from the Premier League, an alternative would be necessary.

Sources close to the Hammers have now revealed that the Atalanta star is being considered as a potential alternative to the Brazilian, according to CaughtOffside.

The lure of the Premier League could be too good to turn down for the 23-year-old despite him only signing a contract extension recently.

Liverpool, Aston Villa, Tottenham, Newcastle United, Manchester City and Arsenal are also eying a move for the Belgium international but the Irons are the only side to register a concrete interest so far.

West Ham face stern competition to sign Charles De Ketelaere

Potter and Co. will have to work quickly if they want to land the former Milan ace given the level of side who are interested in his signature.

Although featuring regularly in the Hammers’ starting 11 could prove to be an attractive prospect, moving to Manchester City or Arsenal is likely to be favoured by De Ketelaere.

If this high-flying duo are to battle to sign the Belgian, it could force the E20 outfit to find new targets ahead of the summer.

It will be interesting to how the head coach at the London Stadium can convince the versatile attacker of a move to the capital rather than a move to link up with Pep Guardiola.
