West Ham sources share new Brian Brobbey loan update

West Ham United have not finalised a loan deal for Ajax striker Brian Brobbey, according to Sean Whetstone.

The Hammers insider reported via his West Ham Football X account (24 January) that the club source he contacted said they wished they had confirmed a deal.

The report adds that the deal is still likely to be finalised with just the financial side of things to sort out.

West Ham United and Graham Potter need a new striker

Graham Potter took the reins of a fairly sunken ship when he chose to come back into management for the job at the London Stadium.

The 2024/25 season has been far from ideal for the Hammers and their fans with the Hammers falling below expectations across almost all competitions.

They may have brought in a fair few new faces in the summer transfer window but as some of them seem to be made of glass, much like Niclas Fullkrug, they’ve still got a fair few voids that need filling.

The striking department at West Ham has been the bane of their existence for some time now with fans sometimes feeling as if they’ve been cursed to have poor number nines among their ranks.

However, now that moves for both Brobbey and Andre Silva are on the cusp of completion, it feels like things could be about to turn around, especially if the young Ajax forward comes in.

Only time will tell what the future holds for Potter and his men but it’s good to see that they’re starting to make some much-needed moves in the winter transfer window.
