West Ham sensation sends emotional goodbye message after 10 years with the club
West Ham have had one of their most active winter transfer markets in a long time, and movement doesn’t appear to be slowing down.
Nuno Espirito Santo has welcomed the likes of Taty Castellanos, Keiber Lamadrid, Adama Traore, and Pablo to the London Stadium in recent weeks.
The Hammers boss has been backed by David Sullivan, as West Ham continue their fight for Premier League survival.
However, Nuno knew that he had to let some players go this window, and now Elisha Sowunmi appears to be added to a long list of E20 exits.

Elisha Sowunmi sends heartfelt message as West Ham departure imminent
Sowunmi is highly rated at West Ham, and has spent over a decade developing with the Hammers in East London.
The 18-year-old is a regular for West Ham’s U21s side, but there have been suggestions that the attacker could leave the Irons this window.
- Sowunmi has played six times for West Ham’s U21s in the Premier League 2 this season
- He managed to score 16 goals in 31 games for West Ham’s U18s side back in the 2023-24 campaign
Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Sowunmi announced that he will be leaving the Irons after 10 years with the club, with his next destination now confirmed as Tottenham.
Sowunmi wrote: “After 10 years, it’s time to say goodbye. Grateful for every moment, every lesson, every teammate. Thank you, West Ham.”
He only signed a professional contract with the Hammers last year, and now the Irons will wish him well on his next adventure in London.
Which West Ham youngsters could leave next?
There are still ins and outs to be expected over the coming days at E20, as Nuno and Co. need to decide on the right moves, particularly for their young gems.
The likes of Callum Marshall and Kaelan Casey have already found new clubs with whom they will stay on loan until the end of the season, but there are others waiting for their first taste of senior football.
Finlay Herrick was recalled by West Ham from his impressive loan spell with Boreham Wood, where the goalkeeper made 10 appearances in the National League.
West Ham will most likely seek a new destination for their promising shot-stopper, as Emeka Adiele has been tearing things up for the Hammers’ U21s.
There’s the possibility of the Irons playing Championship football in 2026. If West Ham’s worst nightmare of relegation comes true, they will then have to hope that their youngsters can fire them back into the big time.
