West Ham ready to terminate player’s deal in order to sign Antonin Kinsky
West Ham United have entered the loan market as Nuno Espirito Santo aims to strengthen his squad further.
Both Taty Castellanos and Pablo made the move to the London Stadium earlier this month to help the Hammers in their push for Premier League survival.
West Ham are now interested in signing Tottenham goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky and Chelsea defender Axel Disasi on loan until the end of the season.
However, the East London side would first have to offload one of their current players if they are to have any chance of getting the double deal over the line.
West Ham working to terminate Igor Julio loan agreement
West Ham brought in Igor Julio on loan from Brighton in the summer transfer window, with the move being rushed through on deadline day.
However, the 27-year-old has made just four Premier League appearances for the Hammers this season, and hasn’t played a single minute since the end of November.
Despite his lack of impact on the pitch, the centre-back is now set to play a big part in West Ham’s transfer dealings.
According to football.london, Nuno’s side are working to terminate Igor’s loan deal before the end of the winter transfer window, which would allow them to bring in both Kinsky and Disasi.
West Ham can’t currently sign both, as they are only permitted to have two players on loan from Premier League clubs at one time.
In order for the Hammers to be able to sign Disasi and Kinsky on loan, Igor would have to be sent back to Brighton, but it isn’t clear whether there is a break clause in his contract at the London Stadium.
West Ham have further hurdle regarding Igor termination
What makes the situation even more complicated for West Ham is that Igor has already featured in a competitive match for Brighton this season.
The defender played the full 90 minutes in the Seagulls’ 6-0 win over Oxford United in the League Cup, and per FIFA regulations, you are not allowed to play for more than two clubs in a single campaign.
There is an exception to that rule, if a league operates on a different calendar, meaning that Igor could be in line for a move back to Brazil.
Igor’s former side Palmeiras are reportedly keeping tabs on his situation, and the Brazilian top division runs from the end of January until the start of December, so he would be able to feature for them.
