West Ham ‘ready to sign Taremi’ as agents work on new transfer

West Ham are targeting Inter Milan forward Mehdi Taremi this summer.

The Hammers finished 14th in a dismal Premier League campaign last time out and have since lost Mohammed Kudus in a £55million deal to Tottenham.

Graham Potter’s side are looking to bring in attacking players as they begin their rebuild, notably targeting Liverpool star Harvey Elliott.

Inter forward Taremi has been targeted, just a year after he joined the San Siro giants, after playing just 805 minutes in Serie A last season.

West Ham interested in Taremi as agent searches for new club

The Iranian looks set to leave Italy as his agent has begun offering him out to potential suitors.

Gianluigi Longari has reported via X (20 July) that Taremi’s agent has been in Turkey to make contact with officials from Besiktas over a potential move.

Taremi has also been offered to clubs in England, with Fulham and West Ham currently evaluating whether to make a move for the 33-year-old.

Iranian journalist Hatam Shiralizadeh reported that Porto were also interested in bringing the forward back to Portugal, with talks between intermediaries and the player’s entourage underway.

Inter are said to be willing to listen to offers, and hope to make around £8.6m on the player.

Taremi would bring similar hype to that of Niclas Fullkrug

Taremi has endured a miserable time in Italy, making just seven starts in Serie A since his arrival 12 months ago.

However, he has shown in the past at Porto that he can be a top-quality striker when given the chance, in a similar vein to that of Niclas Fullkrug, who arrived at the London Stadium last summer.

Should he arrive in East London this summer, Potter will need to tinker with his style to fit the needs of the Iranian; otherwise, it’s another year of relying on Jarrod Bowen to keep West Ham up.
