West Ham ‘ready’ to seal Gabriel Jesus transfer as Arsenal stance shared ahead of January
West Ham are prepared to make a move for Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus in the January transfer window.
The Hammers are sat inside the bottom three just nine games into the new Premier League season, and their issues at the top of the pitch are rearing their head once again.
Niclas Fullkrug is currently out of action for West Ham through injury, which has left Callum Wilson as the only senior striker available to lead the line at the moment.
Nuno Espirito Santo will be targeting the winter window to get some much-needed reinforcements through the door, and he already has his eyes on the forgotten star from across London.

Gabriel Jesus to leave Arsenal on loan-to-buy deal
West Ham were linked with Jesus in the latter stages of the summer transfer window, as his time at Arsenal appears to slowly be drawing to a close.
The Gunners made a significant investment of their own in the summer in the form of Victor Gyokeres, and his arrival has bumped the Brazilian further down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium.
The 28-year-old is yet to play a minute of competitive action for the North London outfit so far this season, which has prompted suggestions that he could be on his way out in January.
West Ham are being tipped as a potential suitor for the frontman, with the E20 side understood to be “ready” to make a move for him in January, providing the conditions of the deal are right, according to MilanLive.
The Italian outlet believe that Jesus will be allowed to leave Arsenal on an initial loan deal with the option to buy, which could become an obligation depending on his performance.
The Hammers are likely to face competition from elsewhere in the Premier League in the form of Fulham and Bournemouth, while AC Milan and Juventus are both keen to take him to Italy.
West Ham must avoid falling into Gabriel Jesus trap
Wilson’s struggles at West Ham since he joined in the summer have further compounded te club’s woeful record with strikers.
David Sullivan and Co. have a frankly appalling record of signing aging, and injury-prone frontmen, who simply cannot stay fit long enough to have a sustained impact at the London Stadium.
- Jesus has 76 Premier League goals to his name from 229 appearances
- He hasn’t surpassed five league goals in a season since the 2022-23 campaign
- He hasn’t made a competitive appearance so far this term
With that it in mind, it is imperative that they avoid falling into the same trap with Jesus.
The temptation to make a move for the Brazilian is understandable, given that he is somebody who has been out of their reach in recent years. However, he is arguably only available because Arsenal have grown tired of his injury issues.
He was able to start just six league games last term, and that should be enough alone to have the alarm bells ringing in E20.
Jesus is undoubtedly a big name and carries a big reputation, but he is too much of a gamble for West Ham to take right now.
