West Ham ready last-ditch bid to re-sign Jesse Lingard
West Ham are readying a “last-ditch bid” to sign Jesse Lingard on a permanent basis from Manchester United, according to The Express.
The newspaper claims Man United have dropped their demands for the 28-year-old, who wants to return to East London after a successful half-season loan there this year, and now want £20million.
It is understood that the Irons have had one bid rejected by Man United already but are now set to made a second bid that will hopefully secure them a deal before the transfer deadline on August 31.

Get it done
It may be a costly deal for Lingard but it’s about time West Ham show their intentions for next season and add some real quality to the squad.
We don’t need to remind fans about how good Lingard was on loan with us last season and, as it stands, the squad is worse off now than it was in May solely due to his loan deal ending.
Lingard is a better attacking midfielder than anyone we have already and signing him would turn this team from one that could finish mid-table to again finishing inside the top six and qualifying for Europe.
David Moyes must be really frustrated with how the summer has gone because so far, he’s signed just one new player and it was a new player he didn’t really need in goalkeeper Alphonse Areola.
Craig Dawson’s loan deal has also been turned into a permanent one but our outfield options are not strong enough to match or exceed what was achieved last term.
Signing Lingard would help with that massively and we really hope this final bid for the Manchester United man is enough to prise him away from Old Trafford for good.
In other West Ham news, the Irons are expected to table a bid for an international forward in the coming days.
