Joao Felix could become the first West Ham signing of the summer transfer window.

After what has been a dismal campaign for West Ham, it has become apparent that they need to recruit well this summer and have no margin for error.

Having recently won a European trophy, the regression has been startling, and things haven't improved much under Graham Potter.

However, if Potter is to remain in charge next season, he needs to be backed, and as per the latest update on Felix, it seems as though the Irons are prepared to do that.

Felix set for Chelsea exit this summer

West Ham will have already drafted up their recruitment plans for the summer, and based on previous failures, it is imperative that they make the right decisions.

Potter has the foundations of a European team at the London Stadium, but without that extra injection of quality, this team will be going nowhere, though Felix could change that.

According to a report from TBR (22 April), West Ham are keen on signing Felix on loan in the summer, but a move to his own country is said to be more appealing to the forward at the moment, with it looking unlikely that he will remain at AC Milan.

Wolves have also been linked, with Chelsea realising that they may have to sanction another loan move for him to get him off the books.

The report adds that Felix has no future at Stamford Bridge, making it rather likely that he will move on in the coming months.

Felix signing would be a step in the right direction for the Irons

Defensively, there haven't been too many concerns for the Hammers, but a lack of attacking threat has been a problem all season.

They thought they rectified that with the signing of Evan Ferguson in the winter, but he has failed to impress at West Ham, with no one else really stepping up to the plate.

West Ham have a huge summer ahead, and they need to get a head start on their plans.
