West Ham ready bid to sign Jonathan David as Graham Potter makes demand to board

Graham Potter wants to bring Jonathan David to West Ham, according to TBR Football.

Graeme Bailey reported to the online football outlet on 17 January that the new head coach wants the Hammers to challenge to sign the Canada international.

The 25-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and with the Irons putting plans in place for the summer, a London Stadium move could be on the cards.

The striker has scored 17 goals so far this season and has been tabled multiple offers for a free transfer but Potter is ready to make an offer to tempt him to East London.

The Irons are in desperate need of a striker right now with both Michail Antonio and Niclas Fullkrug set to be sidelined for lengthy periods.

Danny Ings is available to the former Brighton boss but it doesn’t appear that there is much trust in the former England international.

As a result, bringing a new forward to the London Stadium could prove to be a wise move from Potter and the hierarchy in E20.

David may prove to be a real coup for the Hammers given the level of sides interested in his signature and the fact he is available for free in the summer.

The former Gent youngster has netted over 100 goals since joining Lille but could finally be on the move after five years in Ligue 1.

A move to the Premier League could see the Canadian flourish due to his pace, physicality and eye for goal.

Potter and the London Stadium faithful will hope that if the 25-year-old chooses a move to England, it is to the East end of the capital.

In other West Ham news, an ex-Hammers ace has urged Potter to learn from Sir Alex Ferguson in January.
