West Ham onto a winner with Raheem Sterling as sources share one guarantee
Raheem Sterling could make his way to West Ham in the January transfer window.
West Ham have already been busy in the transfer market, with the addition of attacking players being their priority under Nuno Espirito Santo.
Gil Vicente striker Pablo is joining West Ham and could feature in Saturday’s clash with 20th-placed Wolves.
Taty Castellanos is also lined up for a medical, but the Hammers are still on the hunt for more in the final third.
Sterling is linked with a move to West Ham, and player-turned-pundit Dean Saunders has insisted that he would be a fantastic signing.
Raheem Sterling’s attitude will be impeccable at West Ham
Sterling hasn’t featured at all this season after being exiled from Chelsea’s squad and left to train on his own by former manager Enzo Maresca.
Speaking on talkSPORT on 2 January, Saunders said he is convinced Sterling’s attitude will be spot on if he were to join the Hammers.
He said: “From a good source, his attitude since he was a kid has always been football, football, football.
“I’ll guarantee you now he wants to play regularly, so they have to come to an agreement on his wages somehow. Quite right for me, Sterling would be a good signing.”
| Stat | Sterling |
| Appearances | 396 |
| Goals | 123 |
| Assists | 65 |
The winger has registered 188 Premier League contributions, and that hasn’t come as a result of ill-discipline.
He has won 12 major trophies in his career, and has single-handedly won games for Man City and Liverpool across the 2010s decade.
Sterling is one of the most experienced and decorated players still residing in England, and a move to West Ham could see him end his career with a flourish.
A player of his pedigree isn’t available very often, and West Ham have a history of helping an experienced star rediscover their form.

West Ham can take Jesse Lingard’s success as a blueprint for Sterling
Jesse Lingard joined the Hammers in January 2021 and shone at the London Stadium.
He registered 15 goal contributions in the second half of he 2020-21 season to help the Hammers secure a sixth-placed finish under David Moyes.
He was previously an outcast at Man United and found himself in a similar situation to Sterling.
The circumstances are much different this time around, with the Hammers sitting 18th in the table and at risk of relegation.
But if there’s anything that can be learnt from Sterling’s career, it’s that he has a knack for performing under pressure.
If West Ham can give him freedom on the pitch, Sterling could replicate and even exceed Lingard’s achievements five years ago.
