West Ham need to pay ‘Extraordinary’ fee to complete Jhon Duran transfer
West Ham United will need to shell out an “extraordinary” transfer fee to sign Jhon Duran from Aston Villa this winter transfer window, according to the Daily Mirror.
Neil Moxley reported via the newspaper’s football pullout (25 January, page 5) that Al-Nassr are preparing an offer for the Colombia international after the Irons had an offer rejected by the Villans this week.
The Birmingham-based club have already ruled out a transfer for Duran before the deadline on 3 February, but “money talks”, although it would take a huge sum to lure him away from Villa Park.
When asked about clarity over Duran’s future, Unai Emery told his players to focus on their upcoming game against West Ham, whose interest in the striker has added “extra spice” to the fixture.

However, it always seemed unrealistic to lure the Colombian away from Birmingham, especially midway through the season after he has scored 12 goals from 28 appearances across all competitions this season.
The approach seems rather laughable and it makes one wonder if it was just a PR stunt from David Sullivan.
Considering the Hammers’ desperate need for a striker, they are better off investing their time, money and energy into signing realistic targets with the transfer deadline of 3 February fast approaching.
Fans can be forgiven for losing track of the number of the centre-forwards Graham Potter’s side have been credited with an interest in this month.

However, it appears none of those players are close to putting pen to paper on a contract at the London Stadium.
