West Ham must look elsewhere after missing out on Oleksandr Zinchenko signing
West Ham are set to miss out on the signing of Manchester City full-back Oleksandr Zinchenko after Arsenal agreed a fee of around £30million, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Hammers are in the market to sign players to strengthen the defensive unit ahead of the next campaign.
For this purpose, they have been linked with a move for the Ukraine international in the recent past.
However, Romano, in a tweet on Saturday, reported that Arsenal and City have agreed on a fee for the player and personal terms will be discussed.
Big miss
Zinchenko is an acrobatic fullback, known for his immense work rate and ability to play in multiple positions. Despite his preference to play as a left-back, the Ukraine International can also play on the left side of midfield as he provides great cover for his backline.
Even though he has all these attributes, he has failed to cement a first-team position under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

Considering what Zinchenko has won at the Etihad Stadium already, he would have been a brilliant addition to the Hammers squad but after losing him to Arsenal, the club must be proactive and find players to strengthen the positions as soon as possible.
Zinchenko joined City in a deal worth £1.8 million in the summer of 2016 from Russian club Ufa. Since then, he has represented the reigning English champions in 127 matches across all competitions where he has managed to score two goals and provided 12 assists [Transfermarkt].
West Ham must now look elsewhere.
