West Ham midfielder Nathan Holland pursued by Championship clubs
West Ham midfielder Nathan Holland is “attracting interest” from Championship clubs this summer, according to The Athletic.
The online news outlet claims the 23-year-old, who joined the Irons from Everton in January 2017 during Slaven Bilic’s tenure at the club, is on the radar of second-tier clubs.
Any exit for the Englishman could be on loan, however, as just before reporting on Holland, The Athletic’s Gregg Evans wrote that “securing a couple of Premier League loans is of greater importance” for Championship clubs this summer, amid the financial fall-out of COVID-19.

Clock ticking
Holland’s time at West Ham appears to be drawing to an end after more than four years in east London.
He has made just four appearances in that time – two in the Premier League during the 2019/20 campaign – and his career has faltered.
His only spell of senior football outside that handful of games was at Oxford United during the 2019/20 season, playing 12 times and scoring three goals for the League One club.
However, he suffered a season-ending hamstring injury in March 2020 which brought his temporary spell with The U’s to an end, and it’s been a tough road back ever since.

Holland has been included in David Moyes’ pre-season plans this summer, starting against Dundee on July 9, but it feels like he’s just filling a gap while the Irons wait for their Euro 2020 stars to come back.
With his contract set to expire in June 2022 [Transfermarkt], it will be interesting to see whether he is handed a new deal and sent out on loan, or whether this summer will be the last we see of him in West Ham colours.
Due to his age, it feels like it may be the latter.
In other West Ham news, the club have approached this EUROs semi-finalist, he’s prepared to reject a Premier League rival for the Irons.
