West Ham make last-gasp Mohammed Kudus sale decision

West Ham have no interest in selling Mohammed Kudus amid interest from Saudi Arabia, according to Mike McGrath.

The Daily Telegraph journalist reports via his personal X account [31 January] that the Hammers already plan to rebuff any approaches from the Saudi Pro League before the 3 February deadline.

Having attracted plenty of interest since his move to East London in August 2023, the Premier League club clearly have no interest in cashing in on the player.

Mohammed Kudus going nowhere despite West Ham exit rumours

Kudus’ time in East London has been far from smooth sailing, especially after his sending-off during the 4-1 defeat to Tottenham in October, but he is clearly an important player for Graham Potter.

The former Brighton and Chelsea boss has proven his talents when working with talents, and while Kudus’ form has significantly dropped recently, Potter could be the man to help him rediscover himself.

After notching eight goals and six assists in the Premier League last season, the Ghanaian only has three goals and one assist so far this term, and the Hammers need him to step up.

The Hammers are still sitting in 14th in the league table after 23 matches, and with Niclas Fullkrug and Michail Antonio sidelined long-term, Potter needs his stars to step up soon.

Lucas Paqueta has already done that for the new manager, scoring in back-to-back games against Aston Villa and Fulham, and now being asked to play out of position at centre-forward.

The sooner Kudus gets into the next gear, the better for the Irons and their season, and the news that the club plans to rebuff any offers for him will be a huge relief to the supporters.

Some fans at the London Stadium have become frustrated with the player’s lack of impact on the pitch but if Potter is given enough time to rebuild, he can play an important role for the Hammers.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers made an approach to sign a Serie A midfielder “in recent days”.
