West Ham make last-ditch move to sign Yunus Musah after Napoli news

West Ham are looking to take advantage as Yunus Musah prepares to leave AC Milan.

The Hammers have seen multiple players linked away since the 2024/25 campaign ended, with Lucas Paqueta tipped to leave as his spot-fixing hearing continues to drag on.

On top of this, Tomas Soucek is linked with Everton and a reunion with David Moyes.

Therefore, a replacement could be needed in midfield as Graham Potter looks to improve his options, which is where Musah comes in.

West Ham attempt to hijack Napoli’s bid for Musah

West Ham have been long-term admirers of Musah, having previously been linked with the midfielder in 2023 under Moyes.

The AC Milan star won the Supercoppa Italiana this season despite their poor campaign, and now he is set to end his two-year stay at the San Siro giants.

According to Calicomercato (11 June), Musah is likely to move to Napoli in the coming weeks, with the two parties agreeing on personal terms already.

West Ham reportedly made a last-ditch attempt to sign the midfielder as they looked to insert themselves into the deal.

However, this now seems to be in vain with negotiations between AC Milan and Napoli at a “very advanced stage”.

West Ham pay price for indecision-making

There is no doubt that this is one of the most important transfer windows in West Ham’s recent history after yet another disappointing campaign.

Fears of relegation to the Championship next season are real, especially with the likes of Leeds United coming up.

West Ham are not currently close to making a signing despite numerous links, and that could come back to haunt them.

The constant indecision-making that the Hammers are going through is costing them when it comes to transfers, missing out on the American star, for example.

If West Ham had made Musah their number one target and stuck with it, they may have signed the midfielder.

Instead, there is a clear lack of direction in the transfer window, which could cost the Hammers a place in the Premier League next season.
