West Ham make Jack Grealish approach to beat Everton to new transfer

West Ham have significant work to do in the transfer window if they are to improve on last season’s showing.

The Hammers have completed some business already, with three players through the door at the London Stadium.

However, Mohammed Kudus has joined Tottenham for £55million, and Graham Potter needs quality reinforcements.

Jack Grealish is set to leave Man City this summer, and it appears that the Irons are in for him.

West Ham move for Grealish as Man City exit looms

former Brentford and Leicester City boss Martin Allen exclusively told West Ham Zone that the Hammers should sanction a loan deal for Grealish.

The forward has fallen out of favour under Pep Guardiola and thus is expected to leave the Etihad Stadium this summer.

Last season, the 29-year-old made just seven Premier League starts, making just two goal contributions for City.

To make matters worse, Grealish was an unused substitute during the FA Cup final, with Claudio Echeverri handed a debut over the Englishman.

Furthermore, the former Aston Villa man did not travel with City to the FIFA Club World Cup, emphasising the fact that he is not part of Guardiola’s plans.

Now, West Ham are the latest club to enquire about Grealish, according to Ben Jacobs (17 July).

However, the finances of any deal make it difficult, while Everton remain keen if Man City sanction a loan.

Grealish would be a worthwhile punt for Potter on loan

Iconic commentator Ian Darke exclusively told West Ham Zone that Potter is crying out for pace amid the Grealish links.

While the forward would not solve that issue, he would still be worth a flutter if he could be acquired on loan.

The England international has been a cog in Guardiola’s system and has been unable to play with the freedom he did at Villa.

However, the 29-year-old is excellent in tight pockets, can pick out a cutting pass, and can draw fouls in dangerous areas.

He needs a move where he can be one of the main men, while a move to a number 10 position can help him flourish.

Of course, West Ham do need more pace, but they should make room for Grealish if they can sign him on loan.
