West Ham make final offer to seal Cummings transfer in Celtic ultimatum
West Ham United have submitted an improved offer to Celtic for Daniel Cummings with a plan in place if it is rejected, according to Anthony Joseph.
The Sky Sports News editor posted on X (3 February) that after their initial £500,000 bid for the 18-year-old was rebuffed, the Irons have returned with a new and improved offer for the Scottish striker.
However, if Celtic also knock back the new bid [Ben Jacobs, 3 February], the Hammers will instead finalise their pre-contract agreement for a prospective summer transfer, rather than another offer.
West Ham confident of securing Daniel Cummings transfer
Although they are keen to establish a pre-contract agreement with Cummings as a fall-back agreement, it’s clear that if they can, the Irons want the teenage striker to move to East London as soon as possible.
Cummings is highly rated at Celtic Park to the extent that they’ve already turned down £500,000 for a player who has already agreed to leave.

Evan Ferguson is already set to sign at the London Stadium with an announcement expected imminently, but the Hammers’ transfer activity suggests that he’s not the only striker they want to bring in.
Graham Potter has been keen to secure attacking reinforcements since taking charge at Rush Green on 9 January, with a surplus of injuries leaving his side running on fumes in the final third so far.
Eli Junior Kroupi is another 18-year-old starlet the Hammers have their eye on, but with Cummings possibly available for a whole lot less, expect their pursuit to continue well into the window’s final hours.
In other West Ham news, at least one Deadline Day addition at the London Stadium is now certain in the form of a returning loanee.
