West Ham make Carlos Soler transfer decision as France talks revealed
West Ham United have made up their mind on Carlos Soler ahead of his loan deal coming to an end.
Soler joined West Ham on a season-long loan from Paris Saint-Germain last summer and has since been a regular for them, making 26 appearances across all competitions.
The Spain international has had a mixed start to life under Graham Potter, starting four of the Irons’ nine Premier League games since the new head coach’s arrival.
He has been restricted to the bench on each of West Ham’s last four league games, thus raising doubts about his future at the London Stadium.
West Ham not expected to buy Soler
With Soler seemingly falling down the pecking order under Potter, West Ham are expected not to make his loan move from PSG permanent, according to the Guardian.
There have been contradicting reports about the existence of a buy option in the Hammers’ agreement with the French giants, with L’Equipe insisting on a clause worth £16.9million.
Meanwhile, Jacob Steinberg of the Guardian has maintained that there is no such provision in the deal between West Ham and PSG.
Nevertheless, the East London outfit are unlikely to make an effort to keep Soler at the club beyond this season, as reported by the newspaper via their website on Wednesday, 19 March.

The same is true for Evan Ferguson, who arrived on loan until the end of the season from Brighton in the winter transfer window.
This comes amid news that West Ham are determined to sign Angel Gomes on a free transfer from Lille, with Potter said to be a big fan of his.
Potter faces Gomes snub
The Irons are keen to lure Gomes from France back to England and have already offered him a deal worth £100,000 a week.
However, the proposal is not tempting enough for the 24-year-old, who is also of interest to Barcelona ahead of the summer.
Potter’s side have also been credited with an interest in Gomes’ Lille teammate Jonathan David.
Like Gomes, David also has his contract with the French club running out at the end of the season.
