West Ham make approach to sign ‘phenomenal’ star with same agent as Fullkrug

Niclas Fullkrug’s debut season as a West Ham player didn’t go as many would have hoped.

David Sullivan’s luckless run of striker signings continued as the 32-year-old German scored just three times in six Premier League starts and 12 substitute appearances this term.

After joining from Borussia Dortmund for £27million, Fullkrug spent the majority of the Premier League season sidelined with injury, costing the club £4.5million per appearance in Julen Lopetegui’s and Graham Potter’s starting line-ups.

Fullkrug’s agency ROOF will have no doubt thought they’d done a good deal when they helped sign off on the striker’s move from Signal Iduna Park to the London Stadium.

And they could now be getting involved in yet another piece of business in Stratford.

West Ham make enquiry over deal to sign Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher

West Ham have reportedly made an approach to sign Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher this summer.

The Irish Times reported on 28 May that as well as the Hammers, Brentford and Leeds have also made contact over a deal with the Premier League champions.

It is understood that Arne Slot is ready to sell the Republic of Ireland international this summer but they want to be offered more than £20million before a deal is agreed.

Kelleher is widely seen as one of the best second-choice goalkeepers in the Premier League behind No 1 Alisson.

However, Liverpool have already agreed to sign Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili this summer, meaning that Kelleher’s first-team chances are set to become even more restricted.

Lukasz Fabianski – who, along with Fullkrug and Kelleher, is also signed up to the ROOF agency – has played his final game for the Irons and will be tasked with finding a new club this summer.

Kelleher to take Alphonse Areola’s number one shirt

If West Ham are able to beat Brentford and Leeds to Kelleher’s signature, they will have had to offer him the number one shirt at the London Stadium.

He’s leaving Liverpool because he wants to be the main man in between the sticks so he wouldn’t head to East London to play second fiddle to Alphonse Areola.

Kelleher is better than Areola, anyway.

He’s regularly proven himself as a top penalty saver at Liverpool, with Chris Sutton hailing his “phenomenal” performances in goals while speaking on the BBC 5 Live’s Monday Night Club last year.
