West Ham United have been by far the busiest team in the Premier League in January.

Nuno Espirito Santo has trusted both in the Premier League, with West Ham picking up crucial consecutive wins over Tottenham and Sunderland since.

David Sullivan isn't done there, though, with another week to go until the transfer deadline.

That is where Isak Hien comes in.

West Ham make their move for Isak Hien

Despite the upturn in form, there is still pressure to improve defensively.

Sloppy goals have still been conceded against Spurs and Sunderland, and that cannot be allowed to continue when in a relegation dogfight.

The Daily Mail has reported in its print edition on Monday that West Ham have made their move to sign Hien from Atalanta in the final week of the window.

It is said that a loan move with a fee has been offered, with an obligation to buy if the Hammers stay in the Premier League.

Hien is a Swedish international who plays in central defence, but can also feature on the right.

Could anyone leave West Ham?

At this moment, it appears that Nuno has settled on Jean-Clair Todibo and Konstantinos Mavropanos as his preferred partnership at the back.

Max Kilman faced pelters for his performances in recent months and has finally been dropped to the bench at the London Stadium.

With Igor Julio yet to make any sort of impact on loan from Brighton, that could be one to watch ahead of the 2 February deadline.

Either way, things are looking far more positive right now.

The addition of Hien would only add to that at the London Stadium, but you cannot carry such a heavy squad in times of crisis, so some movement would be expected the other way too.
