West Ham make £25m+ offer for Baris Alper Yilmaz, Galatasaray have responded
West Ham United have had an offer worth £25.2million rejected for Galatasary forward Baris Alper Yilmaz, according to Yakup Cinar.
The Turkish journalist shared via quotes relayed from the Haber website (28 January) that the Hammers were told to come back at the “end of the season” if they wanted to sign the 24-capped Turkey international.
The Hammers have already sent scouts to look at the attacker with Aston Villa among the other clubs eyeing up a transfer.
West Ham United need a new attacker soon
Now that the January transfer deadline is just five days away, it’s beginning to feel like Graham Potter and David Sullivan are doing the most they can to boost the ranks before 3 February and just ensure there is no chance they get dragged into the relegation equation – with an 11-point gap at least providing breathing space.
While some feelers have been sent out for transfers, nothing has yet come to fruition and with the deadline edging ever closer, things could start to become a little desperate at the London Stadium.
A few days ago it felt likely that Brian Brobbey would be Potter’s new number nine with the Hammers and Ajax reportedly close to sealing a deal.
However, that didn’t end up being the case and now they’ve been left in something of a pickle.

Of course, there are still the likes of Andre Silva who could join but as his playstyle is similar to that of Niclas Fullkrug’s, it’s unclear how well he’d perform in the Premier League and whether he’d be the answer Potter is looking for.
Yilmaz would have been a quality addition and could still be if he’s brought in during the summer, but, unless some new faces are brought in soon, the Hammers could find themselves battling for survival in the near future.
In other West Ham news, Daniel Levy is in talks for Tottenham to blow the Hammers out of the water for this player.
