West Ham make £20.9m loan-to-buy bid for Ricardo Pepi, PSV respond already
West Ham made an offer worth around £20.9million to sign PSV forward Ricardo Pepi on a loan with an obligation to buy deal, Fabrizio Romano has said.
The prominent Italian journalist reported via X (29 January) that the Eredivisie side have already rejected the proposal put forward from the Hammers for the United States international.
Romano did not state whether the Irons would be making a renewed offer to bring the 22-year-old to the London Stadium, though it seems certain the club will bring a striker in before the deadline.
West Ham make move to sign Ricardo Pepi
Pepi’s stock would have risen even further last night after he scored one and assisted another as the Dutch giants defeated Premier League leaders Liverpool 3-2 in the Champions League.
It is a poor kept secret that the Hammers are looking to boost Graham Potter’s forward line before the close of the winter deadline on Monday (3 February) given they are currently without Michail Antonio, Niclas Fullkrug and captain Jarrod Bowen.
On Wednesday (29 January), Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth said West Ham are “still pushing” to sign Brighton striker Evan Ferguson either on loan on a permanent transfer, though Bayer Leverkusen and a cluster of other Bundesliga sides are interested in signing him.
What is for sure, it will be interesting to monitor the Hammers’ movement over the next few days because it looks likely at least one forward will be arriving to bolster Potter’s ranks before the window slams shut.
