West Ham line up late Fabio Vieira deal as Arsenal make deadline-busting exit decision

West Ham could sign Arsenal midfielder Fabio Vieira before the transfer window closes.

West Ham have had a miserable start to the season, which has led to intense speculation over Graham Potter‘s future at the London Stadium.

However, some observers believe that David Sullivan has not backed Potter enough in the transfer window.

The controversial owner is trying to change that perception, but he has only two days to achieve that goal, with the deadline on 1 September.

West Ham readying Fabio Vieira transfer before deadline

West Ham have been linked with Vieira, as Potter tries to add some flair and creativity to his engine room.

Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg claimed on 30 August that the Hammers have entered the race for Vieira‘s signature.

He states that Arsenal are ready to sell the Portuguese midfielder before the transfer deadline.

Vieira could be a difference maker for West Ham

West Ham have been linked with ambitious approaches for Harvey Elliott, but Vieira would still be a solid addition.

He has featured 33 times in the Premier League for the Gunners and spent last season on loan with Porto after falling out of Mikel Arteta’s plans.

Strengths:

Weaknesses:

The London Stadium outfit are crying out for dynamism and creativity in their midfield ranks, with the likes of James Ward-Prowse and Tomas Soucek failing to impress in the opening weeks of the campaign.

The 25-year-old would be capable of unlocking defences and boasts a shooting threat from long-range, things which the E20 side are lacking massively right now.

Arsenal’s loss could be a huge gain for the Irons, if Vieira can revive his career in English football in East London, if he completes a move.
