West Ham line up Barcelona rising star before his price ‘goes crazy’ as dossier compiled
West Ham are seemingly making moves to prepare for the January transfer window.
West Ham appointed Nuno Espirito Santo as Graham Potter‘s replacement at the back end of September after a disappointing start to the campaign.
However, Nuno is still awaiting his first victory after West Ham were beaten 2-1 at Leeds United on Friday, with the Hammers taking just one point from his four games in charge so far.
Nuno has yet to add to his West Ham squad, of course, with the transfer window shut well before his appointment as boss.
It looks as though plans are now in place for West Ham to make some additions in the January transfer window, though.

West Ham want to sign Barcelona wonderkid Pedro Fernandez
Alan Nixon reported on his official patreon page that the Hammers are lining up a move for rising Barcelona ace Pedro Fernandez.
Nixon wrote that West Ham want to strike an ambitious deal for the 17-year-old before his price “goes crazy”.
Fernandez started as Barcelona hammered Olympiacos 6-1 in the Champions League on Tuesday, but the Hammers hope that the lure of more consistent first-team football may give them the advantage.
Nixon added that the Hammers are compiling a dossier on the teenager in case the chance to sign him should arrive in the winter transfer window.
Where would Pedro Fernandez play for West Ham?
Fernandez is enjoying a meteoric rise at Barcelona, having made his competitive debut for Hansi Flick’s side in a LaLiga contest against Real Sociedad back in September.
The young talent only moved up to the Under-19s side last term and went on to with the UEFA Youth League, before he joined Barca’s pre-season tour of Asia.
There is no doubt that West Ham are crying out for some youth, vibrancy and energy in midfield and Fernandez may provide a solution to that problem.
- Fernandez, aged 17, has made two first-team appearances for Barcelona already this season.
- He scored for Los Cules on their Asian pre-season tour, a 3-1 victory over Vissel Kobe.
- Fernandez moved to Barca’s famed La Masia academy in 2022 from his home town club Nigran.
He started in a more advanced attacking midfield role as Barca hammered Olympiacos and Nuno may look to play him further forward at West Ham.
Or he might decide that he wants him a little deeper to boost his ranks in the middle of the park, with the Hammers’ options in that area a little thin on the ground.
