West Ham likely to complete Kurt Zouma signing on Friday
West Ham are likely to complete the signing of Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma on Friday, according to Irons insider ExWHUemployee.
Writing on the The West Ham Way Patreon on Thursday night [26/08/21], Ex ruled out the 26-year-old French international being confirmed on Thursday and suggested Friday as a much likelier date.
He said: “I have heard that Zouma has completed his medical in France but as I suspected would happen, they want to verify the results with doctors that are based over in London and have completed our medicals before.

“This is why I questioned the logics of doing a medical in France, before I knew the reason that they have, is that he is there on compassionate leave.
“Should Zouma sign he will become the highest-paid player at the club and so the chairman wants to make sure that he is getting complete value for money. Therefore despite the ‘done dealers’ calling it, the move will not be confirmed today but could be tomorrow.”

As long as it’s done…
Whether Zouma is actually confirmed on Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday, it doesn’t really matter in the grand scheme of things.
West Ham face Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday, but Zouma won’t be playing then anyway.
He would have had to have been registered in the squad by Friday midday, but as he is still in France due to personal reasons he is set to remain in the country and link up with his national team next week as the first international break of the season takes place.
Zouma was named in the recent Les Bleu’s squad for their September World Cup qualifiers.
But even if he had remained in England, it’s highly unlikely he would have played against Palace anyway, at least not from the start.
The Irons have enjoyed a spectacular start to the season, winning both of their opening fixtures.
While David Moyes still waits for their first clean sheet of the season, he’s sure to stick with the same side that beat Newcastle United and Leicester City with ease.
