West Ham learn Jamie Vardy's decision on next club as transfer announcement made
West Ham United have been in talks to sign Jamie Vardy on a free transfer.
The Leicester City legend parted ways with Serie A club Cremonese at the end of last season.
He spent one campaign with the Italian outfit, but showed his scoring touch has yet to fade, finding the back of the net seven times in less than 30 matches.
The Hammers are one of several English clubs that have been linked with Vardy this summer.
Nuno Espirito Santo has been closely monitoring his own striker situation, particularly the future of Taty Castellanos after the arrival of Joel Piroe.
But West Ham now have their answer as to who Vardy has chosen to join next.

West Ham were linked with Vardy after it was revealed that the Hammers were keen to give Castellanos and Pablo some competition this season.
But the 39-year-old was always going to wait until after the transfer deadline to make his decision, with several big-money offers on the table, including opportunities in the MLS.
The Irons remained a "possible" destination for the 39-year-old in a deadline-day report, and now his decision has been made.
In a club announcement on Sunday, Championship rivals Burnley have announced the signing of Vardy.
He has joined the Clarets on a one-year deal, and will try turn things around at Turf Moor, with the side currently rooted to the bottom of the table.
But this may not be bad news for West Ham after all.

If West Ham were told Vardy would join Burnley ahead of them before the season started, there may have been a feeling of anxiety and frustration.
However, the Irons have had a much better start to the season than Nicky Hayen's side, who have essentially replaced Zian Flemming with Vardy.
That said, the Clarets have most likely thrown big money at the ex-England international, something which West Ham may have been keen to avoid when in talks with the player and his agents.
Piroe's arrival gives the E20 side a much fresher outlet up top, and only time will tell if they made the right move in the end.
On paper, it looks like they have.
