West Ham lead race to sign Yaser Asprilla as £30m transfer now ‘imminent’
Yaser Asprilla has emerged as a transfer target for West Ham.
Nuno Espirito Santo is quite evidently not going to be sacked at West Ham and is instead going to be backed in the winter window.
However, as of now, the Hammes have completed just two signings in Taty Castellanos and Pablo, though several others have been linked.
Defensive reinforcements will have to be a priority to end their woeful record in the Premier League, but the latest link concerns another forward arrival, this time in the form of Asprilla.

City Football Group willing to sanction exit for Yaser Asprilla
Asprilla is a name that very few may have heard of, and those who have, it is likely from his time with Watford in the Championship.
The Colombian attacker spent two seasons at Watford, amassing a total of seven goals and 10 assists in the Championship.
However, his move to Girona in 2024 has not gone to plan, with Asprilla managing just five goal contributions over the last two campaigns, with a report from Fichajes stating that the City Football Group are willing to sanction his exit.
West Ham have expressed an interest in signing Asprilla, and they are now believed to lead the race for the 22-year-old, who could move on from LaLiga for a fee in the region of £30million.

It’s claimed that an exit for Asprilla is “imminent” and that the next few hours will be “crucial” in determining where his future lies.
Asprilla could be West Ham’s succession plan
While West Ham haven’t seen the best from their wingers this season, there is still a case to be made that that area of the squad is arguably their strongest.
Jarrod Bowen and Crysencio Summerville have been their go-to options, but for Asprilla to be linked, it could suggest that the Irons are planning for one of them to quit.
In this instance, it would be Bowen, given the fact that Asprilla likes to play on the right flank and often cuts in on his left.
Bowen has been mooted for an exit from West Ham, and if relegation were to happen, that would become a likelihood as opposed to a possibility.
Asprilla would be a decent replacement in that regard, though he’s not likely to be one who changes the feeling at the London Stadium.
