West Ham launch Yilmaz bid in new £21m transfer development
West Ham are reportedly keen on signing new attackers in Graham Potter’s first transfer window in charge.
The Hammers are set to finish in the bottom six of the Premier League this season – a far cry from where they expected to be at the start of the season.
Julen Lopetegui was sacked and replaced by Potter, but results have not been drastically different under the former Chelsea manager’s stewardship.

Galatasaray reject £21m bid for Baris Alper Yilaz
According to Turkish media outlet Sporx (24 May), the Hammers made an offer of £21million to Galatasaray for their winger Baris Alper Yilmaz.
The Turkey international has been in decent form this season, scoring 12 goals in the league.
However, the Hammers’ initial offer did not meet the expectations of Galatasaray and they decided to reject the opening bid.
Competition | Matches Played | Goals | Assists | Yellow Cards | Red Cards |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Super Lig | 32 | 12 | 3 | 9 | 0 |
Turkish Cup | 4 | 1 | – | 0 | 1 |
Europa League | 9 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 0 |
UEFA Champions League | 2 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Turkish Super Cup | 1 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 0 |
Total | 48 | 14 | 4 | 11 | 1 |
As reflected in his stats above, Yilmaz has managed to find goals in different competitions for the Super Lig winners.
It also reflects that he has a bit of a competitive streak, as he’s been sent off once and picked up 11 yellow cards in all competitions.

West Ham may return with a fresh offer
West Ham must make another offer for Yilmaz after their £21million bid was rejected, as he has the potential to transform their attack.
Despite interest from other clubs, the Turkey international’s versatility, likened to Gareth Bale and Phil Foden, makes him a perfect fit for Potter’s squad, especially after his explosive pace in Galatasaray’s 3-2 win over Sivasspor in December.
With Galatasaray valuing him over £21million, a revised bid could secure his signature, ensuring West Ham don’t miss out on a player who could become a Premier League star and bolster their European ambitions.
After a disappointing campaign, these are the kind of game-changing signings the London outfit need.
