West Ham interested in Sassuolo defender Mert Muldur
West Ham are interested in signing Sassuolo and Turkey defender Mert Muldur this summer, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper claims on their website that Tottenham are also interested in the 22-year-old, who can play as a right-back or a left-back.
It is understood that Spurs’ new director of football Fabio Paratici is a fan of the Turkey international, who played for Rapid Vienna in Austria before joining billionaire-owned [Forbes] Serie A club Sassuolo in 2019.

Why?
We don’t need a new right-back.
David Moyes has plenty of options in that area of the pitch when Vladimir Coufal is unable to play.
Ryan Fredericks, Ben Johnson and even Craig Dawson, who played a lot as a right-back at West Brom, can slot in there if there’s a crisis.

Mulder can play as a left-back and we could do with an extra body on the other side of the pitch but he was less-than-convincing in that role for Turkey in his two appearances at the European Championships this summer.
He’s definitely more of a natural on the right so it really makes no sense as to why West Ham would be linked with signing him.
We’re yet to see much activity with the first-team this summer and with the European Championships just days away from being over, there are not going to be any excuses for not doing business.
Moyes needs a striker more than anything while we could also do with one or two extra bodies in other positions.
But one position that is fine and doesn’t need to be touched is the right-back role.
Mulder would be a waste of money as he’s valued at £8.1million on transfermarkt, so let’s forget about this one.
