West Ham insider shares what he’s now been told about bid to sign David Hancko
David Hancko has emerged as a target for West Ham ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Hammers are in the market for defensive reinforcements as Graham Potter looks to revamp his squad after a miserable campaign.
Only Wolves and the three relegated teams have conceded more goals than the Irons in the Premier League this season, so it is a clear area for improvement.

West Ham set to ramp up Hancko interest
The 27-year-old has been touted for a move to the London Stadium for several years and could finally be set to make the switch.
A report from ExWhuEmployee, via West Ham Way (9 May) claims that the Hammers could be set to ramp up their interest in the Slovakian.
However, they face competition from Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, Al-Nassr and a unnamed German club for his signature and it may be a tough task to convince him to move to E20.
He said: “A player who is now very much on the radar is David Hancko of Feyenoord.”
“Although he is 27, which is older than the players typically appear to be targeting under Potter and Macaulay, he is versatile at being able to cover at left-back also.
“It’s understood that others are also keen on the player, with Chelsea said to be monitoring his situation. But at this stage, he’s certainly a player we could be set to ramp up our interest at the end of the season.”

Potter desperate for defensive signings at West Ham
Potter was expected to turn around the Irons’ season but he has failed to improve the squad that he inherited from Julen Lopetegui and Tim Steidten when he took the job in January.
He will be desperate for defensive recruits when the window reopens to combat the poor record that his side have recorded this season.
Stats (Eredivisie) | Hancko |
Matches | 29 |
Pass accuracy | 90.6% |
Ground duels won | 109 (61.6%) |
Aerial duels won | 41 (61.2%) |
Minutes played | 2,610 |
Hancko would be a brilliant addition as he has starred in the Champions League and on the international stage at Euro 2024, as well as in the Eredivisie.
The Feyenoord defender is solid defensively but his ability to bring the ball out from the back is where he really stands out and would improve Potter’s side tremendously in that aspect.
He completed the most passes (2,671) and the most progressive carries for a defender in the Dutch League last season, showing exactly what he could bring to the 2023 Europa Conference League winners.
The only question is whether the East London outfit can convince the player to reject the other clubs that are interested in his services and make the move to Rush Green, where he could be a game-changer.
