West Ham in talks with two centre-backs today, Caleta-Car and Milenkovic
West Ham will hold talks with two centre-back targets today (Thursday) as David Moyes eyes additions to his defence in London, according to ExWHUemployee.
Writing in a post on his Patreon page, the reliable Hammers insider reported that Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic and Marselle’s Duje Caleta-Car as the two defenders the Irons are in discussions with.
However, it is understood that Juventus have joined the race for Milenkovic, 23, and that is likely to be a major lure for the Serbian international.

ExWHUemployee adds that if a move for Milenkovic fails – and that seems likely based on the Juventus news – 24-year-old Croatia international Caleta-Car will become the next target considered.
Writing on Patreon, Ex said: “Talks will continue today with a couple of centre back targets, Milenkovic being one.
“All targets have been mentioned before, but what is concerning is that Italian giants Juventus seem to now been moving for Milenkovic and will likely provide a tempting option for him which he will find hard to turn down. Leicester are also said to be in the mix.
“The next attempt will be for Caletta-Car the Marseille defender who we moved for before, as well as other previous targets.”
Just sign someone, anyone
Ok, maybe not anyone. But it’s about time West Ham pull their finger out and add some real quality to the squad.
We’re a Europa League club now and as long as the draw doesn’t get too difficult and not too many top-class teams drop into it from the Champions League, it’s potentially a winnable competition.
West Ham are also capable of going far in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup so it’s about time the club gives the fans something to really cheer about and starting mounting serious challenges for silverware.

But without any signings, we don’t be able to do that with the squad Moyes has.
Alphonse Areola is a good signing – but did we really need a new goalkeeper before a new striker, central midfielder or central defender? Absolutely not.
We feel like Areola was signed on a loan-to-buy from Paris Saint-Germain just to give the fans something to be a bit excited about.
And to be fair, we do like that signing. It’s just disappointing that the only new face to arrive at the London Stadium is one that we could have gotten away without having.
In other West Ham news, the Irons have turned their attention to signing this Ligue 1 centre-back after failing to land Kurt Zouma.
