West Ham in talks to sign £25m-rated Nikola Vlasic
West Ham are in talks over a deal for CSKA Moscow attacking midfielder Nikola Vlasic with the Russian club wanting around £25million for the ex-Everton man, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper’s print edition reports [August 25, page 75] that Vlasic, 23, is seen as an alternative to Jesse Lingard if the Hammers fail to re-sign the Manchester United and England attacker.
It is understood that AC Milan wanted Croatia international Vlasic earlier in the summer transfer window but now it’s West Ham who are in the hunt to sign him.

Vlasic or Lingard?
It seems like a stupid question because most Hammers fans will say they obviously would prefer to have Lingard back.
He;s proven he can be a star for David Moyes in claret and blue and also has vast experience of playing international football and in Europe that could come in handy for the Irons in the Europa League this season.
However, Vlasic, who scored a winner against Real Madrid in the Champions League a couple of years ago, also has that.
Admittedly, Vlasic was a bit of a flop for Everton before he left Goodison in 2018 but the Croatia international was only young then and has matured a lot in the Russian top-flight.
Since joining CSKA, Vlasic has scored 33 goals in 107 matches, playing mainly as a central attacking midfielder or as a winger.
His versatility would come in handy for us and he also has some of his best years ahead of him.
CSKA are demanding a lot of money at £25million but if we can chip away at that, he would be a good contingency in case Moyes doesn’t get Lingard.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers have been offered this prolific striker by a giant club.
