West Ham in late move for on-fire striker Franculino as details of eight-figure move emerge
West Ham are in desperate need of more signings before the transfer window closes, judging by their start to the season.
If the Hammers do not invest, Graham Potter may as well begin to pack his bags at West Ham and prepare to leave East London, with his tenure as West Ham manager going from bad to worse on Tuesday night.
West Ham lost their third consecutive game to kick off their new campaign, with their 3-2 defeat to Wolves in the Carabao Cup sparking arguments between Jarrod Bowen and Irons supporters.
However, David Sullivan and Co. look to be attempting to bring Franculino to the London Stadium to bolster their forward line.

West Ham attempt to sign Franculino to be Graham Potter’s new striker
West Ham have only spent a total of £36million this transfer window, but this looks as though it could be about to change with deadline day rapidly approaching.
According to a report from Bold on August 27, West Ham and Como have made bids for FC Midtjylland’s star striker Franculino.
The 21-year-old has been the subject of a bid of around £13m from West Ham that has since been rejected, with Midtjylland reportedly holding out for far more than that.
The striker has started the new campaign “on fire”, the report states, with eight goals and two assists in his opening five league matches.
- Franculino was also impressive last season
- The forward netted 11 league goals in 28 appearances, whilst averaging just 61 minutes a game
- This meant that Franculino had a scoring frequency of a goal every 154 minutes last season
Franculino’s arrival could mean a different role for Jarrod Bowen
After being deployed on the right wing for most of his career, Bowen has found himself being utilised as a striker mainly by Potter.
The 28-year-old has featured as part of a two-up top in all three games so far this season, but if Franculino signs, this could be set to change.
In an attempt to change his fortunes as West Ham boss, Potter could look to switch system and move away from the five at the back.
This could allow Bowen to move back on the right-hand side while Franculino starts through the middle.
We saw with Bowen’s ball in for Lucas Paqueta against Wolves that the Englishman is very creative, and this creativity is perhaps stifled when he is forced to play up front.
