West Ham in contact to sign complete midfielder Miller amid Chelsea development
West Ham are looking to bolster their midfield with the signing of Lennon Miller.
After what has been a dismal campaign, West Ham will be fully aware of how much work needs to be done in the next few months.
The Hammers could finish as low as 17th depending on the Premier League results this weekend, showcasing just how far they have regressed under Graham Potter.
First and foremost, a decision will need to be made on Potter’s future, but attention will then quickly turn to the summer transfer window, with a deal for Motherwell’s Miller on the cards.

Miller could become first summer signing at West Ham
West Ham need to recruit well this summer if they are to have any chance of getting back to being a side capable of challenging towards the top of the Premier League.
A whole host of players have already been linked with a move to the London Stadium, and according to a report from TBR (21 May), Miller is the latest.
Motherwell | Games | Goals | Assists |
Miller | 32 | 2 | 8 |
The Irons are believed to have made contact over the 18-year-old, who has also attracted interest from Leeds United and Manchester United, but a move to France could be on the cards.
The teenager, described as a “complete midfielder” by Stuart Kettlewell [BBC Sport], has caught the eye of Chelsea owners BlueCo, who are keen to bring him to Strasbourg, the other club under their ownership.
Miller has impressed with Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership, making a summer move seem somewhat inevitable.

Potter needs to be backed at West Ham
If Potter is to remain in charge next season, he needs to be backed with the signings of players capable of making a difference.
Their shortcomings this season have largely come down to a lack of threat in the final third, though there is certainly room for improvement across all areas of the squad.
If West Ham are to avoid a repeat of this season’s nightmare, it will be crucial that they recruit well and will be afforded no margin for error when doing so.
